Kayleigh Kench

Preschool Manager, DSL and SENCO

I joined Egerton Preschool in 2017 as a volunteer. It was very clear to me that I had a passion for early years development. My qualifications include NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People. I am currently completing my NVQ Level 5.  As manager I lead our team of early years practitioners.  I am passionate about helping children to reach their full potential, especially their social, personal and emotional skills. I love my job, it's rewarding in many ways, helping children reach their milestones and to be proud of what they've achieved, whilst learning through play. I believe that we can provide children with a secure, safe and positive foundation for their lifelong learning.

Meg

Deputy Manager, Deputy DSL and SENCO

I joined Egerton Preschool in 2019. I've always enjoyed working with children especially in the early years. I love my job. I love to help children grow through their play, and support them in their journey from joining us, through to transitioning to primary, it is very rewarding. My qualifications include NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People, I am currently working towards completing my NVQ level 5. I have recently taken on the role of SENCO for the setting which I'm very passionate about, it's very important to me that all children get the same opportunities.

Rachel

Qualified Practitioner

I joined Egerton Preschool in September 2021 after a few years away from the setting. I hold a NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education. I have 4 children myself aged 14,12,7 and 5 and my 12 year old son has ASD. As a mum and a practitioner, I understand the struggles faced by families of children with an additional need. I love supporting my key children and their families to help them thrive, enjoy their time at preschool and make the most from every experience they have.  I believe children learn through play and experimentation and my biggest role is to help support them to do this in a safe, happy, confidence building environment as part of an incredible team.

Kayleigh O

Qualified Practitioner

I joined Egerton Preschool in 2021, after doing some volunteer work.  I found a new career path, having no previous work experience in this sector.  I have a Level 3 NVQ in Childcare. I really enjoy opening the children's minds and can be found creating new games, racing bikes or inventing adventures for us to go on. Always helping the children to use and understand there own mind and thoughts, helping children to learn and develop their abilities and understanding.  All the children in our setting deserve to be happy, safe and fulfilled everyday. Learning through play can sometimes be tiring and frustrating – trying and trying again and not always getting the end result they want. Children really deserve to be proud of their own achievements and of being active learners. I enjoy being a part of supporting them in their journey, from joining preschool through to transitioning to primary school.

Mary

Qualified Practitioner

I joined Egerton Preschool as a practitioner in September 2021. I have worked with children in many different roles for several years, and after many different office-based job roles I have finally found what I was meant to do. I am enjoying helping the children to learn to love themselves and be confident, teaching them is always fun! I have recently qualified at NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, something I should have done years ago and I hope this is the first of many qualifications I will gain along the way. I am thoroughly enjoying my new position, the team we have provides a fabulous, safe and engaging place for the children to thrive.

Katie

Practitioner

I joined Egerton Preschool in February 2023 as a practitioner. Before this I completed a foundation year of early childhood studies at university. I have always had a passion for working with children and watching them develop holistically. I thoroughly enjoy my job and love engaging with the children, watching them grow and learn through play. I love taking the children outside and supporting them to learn about nature, the countryside and the environment around them. I believe my role within the team is to support the children with confidence, integrity and to help build their self-esteem.
